After almost six decades of successful activity in the field of Trash Rake Cleaning Machines and Hydro Mechanical Equipment, we have decided to focus entirely on our core business: the construction of innovative crane systems.
On August 1, 2025, we transferred our technical expertise in the hydro sector to Erhard Muhr GmbH – Gesellschaft für Planung, Maschinen- und Mühlenbau (MUHR). This was based on a contractual agreement dated July 31, 2025. MUHR is an experienced provider of trash rake cleaning machines, steel hydraulic engineering and valve systems, and will take over the support of our customers in this segment.
Seamless transition for our customers
In particular, the rights of use for designs, technical principles, and construction details—including programming, drive technology, and electrical systems—relating to Trash Rake Cleaning Machines and Hydro Mechanical Equipment will be transferred. MUHR will be the first point of contact for service, spare parts supply, and maintenance of existing Künz Hydro systems in the future. We are working closely with MUHR to ensure a smooth transition.
Tradition and expertise for almost 60 years
Almost 60 years ago, we delivered our first Trash Rake Cleaning Machine to a customer in our home region. Since then, numerous systems have been installed worldwide, all known for their high performance, reliability, and technical quality.
“Despite this success story, we decided at the beginning of the year to stop offering new Trash Rake Cleaning Machines in order to consistently focus our resources on our core business of crane construction,” explains Günter Bischof, Managing Director of Künz GmbH.
Fulfilling all our obligations
We will complete all existing orders for machines, systems, services and spare parts in full and will honor the agreed warranty and guarantee periods. Our service team will continue to be available for spare parts and repairs during the transition to MUHR.
Our expertise in good hands
MUHR has decades of comprehensive experience in the fields of trash rake cleaning machines, steel hydraulic engineering, and fittings for hydroelectric and pumped storage power plants, water and wastewater infrastructure, flood protection, and fish protection systems.
