Kuenz HYDRO for TIWAG´s Kirchbichl Hydropower Plant

The Austrian Tiroler Wassserkraft AG is expanding one of their hydropower plants in Kirchbichl, Tyrol. Kuenz supplies one radial gate with flap and a Trash Rack Cleaning Machine.

Built in the 1940s, the Kirchbichl hydropower station at the Inn was expanded due to changed legal requirements regarding fish passability and the  interconnectedness of habitats. Kuenz GmbH was awarded to deliver a radial segment with a flap and a Rope Type Trash Rack Cleaning Machine. The segment with flap, with a clear height of 10.2m (flap height 4.9m) and a clear width of 11m (flap width 9.6m) was assembled until June 2020 and is currently in trial operation. The TRCM Type R100 cleans all in all 4 inlets with a rake 3.5 m wide. In addition to a hydraulic loading crane, the TRCM-R100 has installed a stop log lifting system. The attached debris container can be removed.

The complete expansion of the HPP Kirchbichl will be completed by the end of 2020.
